Visceral Self-Care, A Poem

Stewardship of this body supposes

Care that is lean and laid out

Then pummeled with a hammer

This tender care is similar

To the actions of a cat or canine

It is pleasant to keep the surface clean

So the coats become brilliant

But it is inevitable

The steward must clean too

The festering, putrid masses
