Writing Prompt: The Final Five

As with all the themes I plan on suggesting, The Final Five can be interpreted a myriad of ways. I am encouraging maximum participation with this prompt. Short stories, poetry, lyrics, songs, non-fiction, etc. are all accepted here in writing prompts. Come show me what you’ve got.

  1. Hi there! I am new to using these writing prompts. Is it anything goes? Could it be a story of the final five humans alive on the earth? I was also considering a little non-fiction, for as irony has it, I just spent my last five dollars today. Would either of those work or am I totally off course?

  2. Do you want links back to your prompt or…? I saw this come through and I thought this was a flash prompt and the first thing I thought was something like: The final five seconds didn’t arrive with a bang or a rumble, just a glow in the distance that spread softly until the color drained from the trees and the grass and everything silently faded to white.
